As reported by Siliconera, Famitsu recently hosted a livestream with NieR: Automata's director Yoko Taro, producer Yosuke Saito, Platinum Games' game designer Isao Negishi, and composer Keiichi Okabe, and during the livestream, some interesting discussions took place about what the designers would be willing to do.

Before getting onto what they'd do, Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito has an exchange about money, with Taro saying: "I've said this before, and I'll say it again, but I just want you all to know— after surpassing a million... I haven't seen any money for it."

Taro later asked Negishi: "Since we're releasing costumes from the previous game I think we'll hear a lot more demand for a remake of it, so would you do it if you're asked?" to which Negishi responded: "Of course!"

Taro later asked, on the same topic: "So you're saying that you'd do anything if you get money for it?" and Negishi again responded in the affirmative.

This isn't a confirmation, but at least the team seem to be open-minded about it. Would you like to see a Nier remake?
