A year ago (to this day, in fact) the TV series Krypton got the final go, and it's scheduled to air on the Syfy network later this year. The first trailer found its way online this week, but since it was leaked it's been removed again.
As announced last year, the show is being written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel), and it's set on Krypton two generations before Superman himself came along. Here's the official description:
"Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracised. This series follows The Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest superhero ever known."
With the leaked trailer we also learned (via Digital Spy) that Kal-El's grandfather, Seg-El, will be talking to his future grandson already at a young age.
"Kal-El, my future grandson, your birth world will be a distant memory. The House of El led a revolution against tyranny. The story of your family isn't how we died but how we lived. I know you will fight to save your world, just as I fought to save mine."
According to Digital Spy, the scene is set for a real soap opera as Seg-El is having an affair with Lyta Zod, the ancestor of General Zod. Are you looking forward to another superhero show?
