Microsoft executive Phil Spencer spoke with CNN on the 3D trend in gaming these days and had a few interesting things to say on the subject.

"For better or for worse, people just don't really have TVs in their house right now that are going to do 3D in a way that's going to work", säger han och fortsätter: "A bunch of people sitting around the living room wearing $150 glasses - I'm just not sure that's kind of mainstream today".

Spencer was more positive when the subject of Nintendo 3DS came up: "I like the 3DS," and he added: "you don't have to wear the glasses."

Spencer also handed out a small comment aimed squarely at Sony and their efforts to bring 3D gaming to Playstation 3.

"As a corporate mandate, I don't need to sell you a new TV", Spencer tells CNN. "That's not part of my business model. Other companies maybe have that part of their business model. I don't."

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a title that will support stereoscopic 3D on Xbox 360. But so far, none of Microsoft's first party titles have supported 3D.
