After the success that was the NES Mini, it seems Nintendo is planning a similar thing for the SNES, or Super Nintendo. The information was allegedly leaked online via an unnamed source, pointing to Christmas 2017 as the desired release window for the device. The same source also claims the SNES Mini is already being developed, but no other details where shared.
If the same format is used, the SNES Mini will basically be a Super Nintendo emulator box, with support for HDMI connections and a proper controller. As for the games we would like to see on it, Super Mario World, Super Castlevania IV, Super Metroid, Street Fighter II, Chrono Trigger, and Star Fox are only some of the many we would like to replay on the device (we have a bigger wish list here).
