Yesterday we reported two trustworthy sources saying that the hardware specifications for Xbox Scorpio would be revealed this week, and now Digital Foundry has confirmed on Twitter that this is in fact true. They will show and analyse the specs 14:00 BST / 15:00 CEST, and that means we won't have to wait much longer to know exactly how powerful the new console from Microsoft actually is.
Microsoft has promised that all first party games will run at a 4K resolution on Scorpio, but that it's up to the third parties to use the extra juice as they prefer. What isn't optional, however, is that all games made for Scorpio must work for Xbox One as well, with possible virtual reality games in the future as the only exception.
Scorpio is expected to launch late this year. Microsoft has launched all their three previous Xbox consoles in November, so it's a fairly safe bet to assume that November might be the case this time around as well. Are the specs your biggest concern?
