Rock Band developer Harmonix has had some harsh times as of late, with Rock Band VR not making the intended splash, and even though the developer has both DropMix, a music card game, and a VR game called SingSpace in development, they've announced a new round of layoffs.
A spokesperson for the company told Gamesindustry.biz that the company was due a restructuring, and as a result of this, 17 people have been laid off.
"Today we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to 17 talented people as we restructured to align with our current and anticipated development needs," Harmonix said. "These people all played a role in making Harmonix and its games what they are today and we are more than grateful for their contributions. We are working to ensure that they are taken care of as we make this change."
This is fourth round of layoffs in five years for the developer. Can DropMix and SingSpace turn their luck around?
