Brian Fargo is happy with his recent projects, but he's also tired, and that's why the founder of Interplay and Inxile Entertainment has announced that Wasteland 3 will be the last video game he is in charge of. This means that the retirement isn't coming today, nor tomorrow, but probably in 2019.

"Wasteland 2 and Torment both came out great. The Mage's Tale's got a great buzz. The Bard's Tale 4 looks spectacular. Wasteland 3 is building on Wasteland 2. It seems like a good time to drop the mic," he said in a recent interview. This decision wasn't about game quality or money, since he's been really successful, crowdfunding four games (Wasteland 3 collected more than 3 million USD, for instance), also confirming that Inxile will go on without him because the company hasn't got any debt.

The decision instead came from the fact that Fargo wants time for himself. "I look at my friends, they have a lot more spare time than I do. It's a very intense business. It's all encompassing. It seems like I should relax for a little bit," he said.
