Devolver Digital, the studio behind Serious Sam 3: BFE, has launched a very unusual competition that actively targets the recently released first-person shooter from Danger Close, Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
Gamers who head to Twitter and post "concerns" about Warfighter with the hashtag #SeriousSam3XBLA, will be in contention to receive one of 100 copies of Serious Sam 3.
In their press announcement Devolver describes Warfighter as: "yet another military shooter where cover is king and most folks spend their time peeking out from behind a wall or a strategically placed concrete barrier... That shit is weak."
On the face of it this seems like a very cheeky marketing ploy by the Serious Sam studio, a cheap shot at big rival. One has to wonder if the team over at Devolver might come to regret this publicity stunt, and perhaps they've not considered how it would feel were they on the receiving end of a similarly themed campaign.
