Ghost Recon: Wildlands has just launched this week, and as noticed by Githyp, the game's launch day player numbers on Steam were actually higher than during the open beta, when it was free to play.
The peak players during the open beta charted at 32,955, however, on Tuesday, when the game launched, 34,087 were online 10 hours after the launch on Steam, maintaining numbers relatively similar to the beta ever since.
This is in stark contrast to Ubisoft's other recent online release, For Honor, which, as Githyp also reported, not only had 36% less users than the beta, but also proceeded to lose half of its players within two weeks.
Is there a particular reason why so many Ghost Recon: Wildlands players chose to stay with the game through to its actual launch (assuming that's what this data is implying)?
Thanks, VG247.
