Angry Birds creator sells animation studio and book publisher

Rovio has shifted the businesses to Kaiken Entertainment.

Angry Birds has been so popular that the franchise produced a range of different products, from an animated film to pillows and even books, and the Finnish creator Rovio announced on their official website that it has sold their animation studio in Vancouver and also their book publishing business to Kaiken Entertainment.

Kaiken Entertainment is a new startup from former CEO of Rovio Entertainment, Mikael Hed, who created the entertainment company with "a dream team of seasoned creators from Rovio".

"We are happy to announce this transaction and look forward to a continued partnership with Kaiken in animation series productions and books publishing," says Kati Levoranta, CEO of Rovio Entertainment. No financial details were revealed, with only explaining that the transaction was part of the "ongoing reorganisation."
