The long rumoured iPad Mini is finally official and it will arrive in UK stores on November 2 starting at £269 for the cheapest wi-fi model (16GB). It's 23 percent thinner and 53 percent lighter with a 7.9" display. The key pitch that Apple used was that it "does everything iPad", but it's just a bit smaller. That means all apps that work on iPads today will work on the new iPad Mini.

It's available for pre-order starting October 26.

Launching the same day is the 4th generation iPad (or iPad 4 if you will), sooner than usual (typically Apple launch iPads once every year), and it will sport the new A6X chip giving it twice the power (or so they say). It doesn't come with a lot of fancy new features, and predictably comes in at the same prices as the previous model. The newest iPad will go on sale on November 2 as well.
