Even though we are one day away from launch, the very first update for Nintendo Switch is already available to download from the Nintendo Network (we have confirmed this ourselves). This update is mandatory to connect online and start using functions such as the eShop, sharing screenshots via social media and the news channel.
This update downloads and installs in the background updating the system to version 2.0.0, so you can continue playing any game at the same time. It takes around 10 or 20 minutes to download and just 10 seconds to install, according to official information.
It also enable HDMI-CEC to turn on the TV from stand-by mode, but there is no word on the issue with disconected Joy-Cons some people have experienced prior to the update.
