Bioware cancels Mass Effect: Andromeda beta plans

Let's hope the reason is that it's so damn stabile, anyway.

Mass Effect: Andromeda sure looks and plays great as a single player adventure, at least that's our impression after a recent opportunity to play a preview build. But perhaps things aren't as peachy on the multiplayer side...

We were waiting for a news on a multiplayer tech test to try out the new four player co-op as promised by Bioware, but this will not happen now. The developer is heading to PAX East and will bring the game with them, as revealed in a blog post. But, at the same time, they announced that there are no longer plans to a tech test for those at home.

"While we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda."

What do you think of co-operative multiplayer in a game like Mass Effect - a nice bonus or an unnecessary add-on?
