It appears as if Microsoft may start selling the new and more powerful Project Scorpio, which they claim is still a member of the Xbox family, earlier than August 24 this year, as indicated by a press release about the latest Middle-earth game.
While not having announced a formal release date yet, a PR message from Warner Bros. regarding the announcement of Middle-earth: Shadow of War clearly states that the game will launch "at August 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Project Scorpio and PC". Looks like we get to play a tad earlier than expected on some hotter Xbox hardware, if this means what we think it means.
Update
The official Xbox website has posted a news piece about Shadow of War, saying that, alongside Xbox One and Windows 10, "the title will also be available for Project Scorpio following the console's launch this holiday season," denting hopes of a pre-August release.
