Over the last decade smaller indie titles have become increasingly important for the health of a console. That's not just because they offer different, and sometimes amazing experiences from smaller, more independent creators, but also because they help fill the gaps between larger releases.
If you're the proud owner of an Xbox One console and wondering how many of these smaller games you have to look forward to, well then you need not worry, as Chris Charla, head of Microsoft's indie games program ID@Xbox, recently revealed on Twitter that over 1000 ID@Xbox titles are in development.
A slew of them will be shown off at GDC very soon, but it's a huge amount. Are indies just as important as bigger, triple-A releases?
