The Steam client beta has been detailed via the Steam forums, and it's good news for those of you using a Steam controller, as selecting configurations has been made simpler and easier.
This is done though a number of measures. Firstly, a function of voting for controller configurations has been added, and vote numbers will be seeded via "the previous sorting method," allowing configurations to be optionally sorted by votes. On top of this, configurations are also sorted via a "rolling 30 day window of usage," and those most used in this time period will be shown at the top if you don't want to sort by votes.
There's also some fixes too, such as issues with dead-zones on some controllers being too small, and for those of you who really like to organise your virtual library, you'll be pleased to know there's a fix for the sort order of titles that start with punctuation or Unicode characters.
Is this a more intuitive way to decide which configuration to use?
