With the Uncharted film in development, you would assume Naughty Dog would have a close eye on what's going on, especially considering story, tone, and script was always a bit part of the games. It seems that's not the case, though, as Neil Druckmann, co-writer and creative director for The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, revealed on Twitter that Naughty Dog is out of the loop:
"No one at Naughty Dog has read the script. No idea what the movie is about let alone its tone."
Druckmann said this after the film's writer, Joe Carnahan, revealed he tried to match the film with the games' dialogues, including swearing and adult themes. "I definitely didn't write it as a PG-13 movie. I wrote it the way that movie should be written," he said.
Should they have a closer relationship with each other moving forward?
