Mass Effect has always let you love who you want to love, and in this respect Andromeda is no different. We asked Bioware's Fabrice Condominas about what they're doing to freshen things up between the sheets in the upcoming sci-fi adventure.
"So we actually added a lot of nuance," the game's producer told us. "So included in the conversation system, which is the one that defines a lot of how you relate to a lot of the characters, we went away from a binary system to a way more nuanced system that we call the 'tone choices'.
"And it reflects, including in romances for example, it's not just about having a love story or sex with a character. We built a number of different steps in that, and you can have flirting, one-night stands.
"So basically we just added several more nuanced ways to relate to a character. And again, getting away from the binary systems, even outside of romances, the pure trust system and the level of trust. Nothing is binary any more."
Mass Effect: Andromeda is heading to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 23. You can read our extensive hands-on preview of the game by gently caressing this link.
