After the servers for Battlefield 1 were down to prepare for the Winter Update, the contents of the update have finally been revealed, with a lot of new features to get fans excited.

For example, Ribbons are making a return, with 20 different ones to collect, and 300XP per Ribbon. "The Ribbons are designed to promote good teamplay and playing the objective," according to the update overview, and they encourage feedback for Ribbons too.

Also, you can now unlock an Elite Codex for eight of the primary weapons, and to do this you need to get 500 more kills for each weapon, unlocking not only an Elite Codex but also 25,000 XP too.

A new max Class Rank has also been added, raising to 50 instead of 10, and now at every 10 new Class Ranks players will receive a battlepack. When you reach 50, you'll also get some Class flair in the kill card "to taunt your fallen foes." On top of all this, there'll also be dog tags to unlock up until Class Rank 50.

Servers were also talked about in the overview: "With the Winter Update we're releasing some highly anticipated rent-a-server features. RSP admins will now be able to kick players from their server using the in-game UI, or swing a mighty ban hammer if someone is misbehaving. RSP admins will now also have prioritised access to their server."

"On top of this, we've added the feature to vote for the next map after a match is over. Players on the server will get two options to vote for, and whichever alternative gets the most votes will be the next map. The options will be randomly selected from the server's map rotation. This is done during the end of round screen, so no extra time between rounds has been added."
