Films adapted from video games are rarely great successes, and in some cases they end up being total disasters. On that matter, the not-so-young among you probably (painfully) remember the Mario and Luigi movie. Big Projects like Assassin's Creed and the Resident Evil saga are obviously a bit better, but even they have never really lived up to the level of the video games they are based on.
Today we learned that yet another video game adaptation is set for a theater release: Rampage, from the classic 1986 arcade game. We already know the official release date in the US, which April 20, 2018. We also learned that the film will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and will be directed by Brad Peyton. These two already worked together on San Andreas, a film that pictured the destruction of the San Francisco metro area. They might have to destroy other cities for this new film though...
It seems like a good fit don't you think?
