Industry veteran Chris Avellone - who has worked on major RPG games including Planescape: Torment, Fallout 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Divinity: Original Sin II - has officially joined the Italian studio Gamera Interactive in the role of Creative Consultant. Avellone, in fact, will assist the development team based in Padua in the creation of an unannounced new fantasy IP, the launch of which is planned on consoles and PC in 2018.

In particular, Avellone will offer his experience to the team thanks to advice and feedback on design content and assisting in the creation of world lore and character backstories. Here's what he said about his collaboration with Gamera Interactive:

"Alberto reached out to me last year, he was incredibly friendly and pleasant, and he asked if I'd look at their world and lore and share my thoughts - and if possible, help shape them. He showed me the build of his game, described his concept, and it involves mechanics I've rarely had a chance to work on before. As a result, I was more than happy to help review the world and lore and see what I can do to make it a richer, deeper - and even more lethal - place."

Gamera Interactive's CEO, Alberto Belli, commented it as follows: "As owner of the studio I'm pleased to welcome Chris on board for this ambitious project that will keep the team busy for months to come. As a passionate player I'm excited to collaborate with the man who created some of the games that I loved the most. Chris has played a key role in shaping western RPGs and he is now working with us. Can't wait to say more about this project!"

During the next GDC in San Francisco later this month, Gamera Interactive will offer the first details of this new IP, so expect important news on it in a few days. Are you confident that the new IP can be successful with Avellone's help?
