After a pretty big wait, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has finally gone gold as of a few days ago, which means that the game will land on time on Wii U and Switch without any further delay on March 3. Although we've already had the opportunity to play the game and Nintendo has shown Breath of The Wild on several occasions during the past few months, there are still some aspects that haven't been discussed yet, but GameInformer USA (via Nintendo Everything) offered an interesting insight into the game in the last issue which fills some important gaps.
The Gameinformer editor has in fact had the opportunity to try a demo that starts in Serenne Stable, where Link can rest to recover health, leave his horses, trade, and talk with other NPCs. These stables are scattered all over the map, and each of these is handled by a different character.
As we already know, the game features a dynamic weather system, where climate changes have effects on the gameplay: in case of rain or storm, for example, players can take shelter in a stable. In the specific case of the storm, however, it turns out that the equipment (sword, shield and other weapons) could attract lightning and it could cause the instant death of our hero.
In addition to the stable, players will find more than a hundred Shrines across the map, which allow a quick travel function. What's also interesting is the AI for the wild animals, which can attack Link. Some animals (like bears, wolves, and deer) are also able to walk on the snow and move even in the presence of rather complex atmospheric conditions. Another important aspect to note is that Link will have more than one horse and he can also talk to them, developing feelings like affection and loyalty.
Staying with the topic of feelings, it turns out that both Link and Princess Zelda will be characterised by different facial expressions that provide greater depth to both characters: Zelda, in fact, can get angry with Link and scold him, provoking diverse reactions in the hero (like disappointment and anger). Finally, as we already know, the game will have an alternate ending, although at the moment it's still unclear what the precise criteria are to make that to happen.
Therefore, it seems that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be a huge game and will have many things to offer to the players when it will be available on March 3 for Switch and Wii U. Could these added areas of detail make it one of the deepest Zelda experiences to date?
