Frontier Developments, the studio behind Elite: Dangeous, has licensed the rights from an unknown film studio to develop its third game franchise, according to the London Stock Exchange. According to them, the next franchise will focus on an "enduring movie franchise of global renown." As of yet nobody knows the studio or the franchise, but they promise more details next year.
"The third franchise is an important next step in our growth. We have chosen to license this particular IP to work with as our third franchise, because we believe we can create something very special. It is creatively stimulating, already has a high worldwide profile, and is a perfect match for our expertise," commented Frontier Developments Chief Executive David Braben.
It was also revealed that Frontier Developments' shares were up 3.2% on Monday, rising to 286.40 pence. After Planet Coaster and Elite: Dangerous, what would you like to see from the studio?
