One of the announcements Nintendo made during their Switch presentation was that we'll have to pay for online services this fall. They did however not specify how much it'll cost. Now we might have an indication.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has told Nikkei that the annual fee will be 2,000 yen to 3,000 yen (approximately £13.90 to £20.85).
Obviously, this statement only offers us an estimate as to how much we'll have to pay here in the west. Even if we take Kimishima-san's statements at face value, his statement is in regards to the Japanese market. It doesn't necessarily mean that it'll be the same here. If it actually is, this means that it'll cost less than half of what PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold costs.
