We used to get a new Need for Speed game every year, but Electronic Arts decided to take a break between 2013's Need for Speed: Rivals to 2015's Need for Speed. They said that this might become their new cycle, and last night's news indicates that it has.
EA has announced that we'll get a new "innovative" Need for Speed game before April 2018. The "innovative" part includes a bigger focus on competitive online play and incredible graphics. That's all they want to say at the moment, but expect further details in June at the latest.
