According to Variety, Ben Affleck won't direct the new Batman film for Warner Bros. any more. Although the Academy Award winning director/actor/screenwriter will still be part of the project as star and producer, Affleck will no longer be directing the film dedicated to the Dark Knight. Here's what Affleck said in an official statement:

"There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world."

At the moment, the new Batman film remains without a director, but Warner Bros. and Affleck are already looking for a new one who can take care of the project. Do you think it's a smart decision for Afflect to focus on the acting in the film, or would you have liked to see him take on both roles?
