Pokémon Sun/Moon was released in November last year on the Nintendo 3DS, and the launch was hugely successful. It seems as if that's continuing, as the game has now sold more than 4.5 million units combined in the US (via VG247).
Nintendo has also stated that Sun/Moon is a milestone, as it sold faster than any other Nintendo game ever. And thanks to software sales, the 3DS sales were also up by 2% too, with other first party games like Super Mario Maker also having a hand in increasing hardware sales.
