Splatoon is more than likely coming to the Switch in one form or another, and recent comments from Emily Rogers, one of the insiders leaking a ton of info about the Nintendo Switch, has indicated that the game won't be just a port. Today, just a few hours before the big presentation taking place in Japan, she is talking on her Twitter account about software, and the game features in these discussions:
"One of the previously rumoured Wii U ports for Switch is not a port", she said, and it's not Mario Kart 8, since she talked about that one later, and we only saw four games that day, two coming from Nintendo themselves. Is Splatoon a totally new entry, then - the second one on the series?
Mario Kart, however, is indeed a port from the Wii U version. She added: "My Mario Kart report remains unchanged. It's a port with a ton of new tracks + new characters + New battle mode". Then she said that "at least 16 new tracks for MK8 port", but maybe there are more than that.
The last game she talked about is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, confirmed by Bethesda. Rogers is "very skeptical about that rumour of Skyrim being a day 1 Switch title. It's not impossible but I really doubt it".
We'll find out more in a few hours and then our reporters in London will offer us hands-on with the hardware and the games. Do you want a new Splatoon game?
