Scalebound has only recently been cancelled, and many people have expressed sadness and anger at the cancellation of a game they were looking forward to. Xbox chief Phil Spencer has now responded, apologising to fans online.
"It hurt me as well and to the community I apologize. I want everything we start to turn out great, to take risks, create diversity", said Spencer on Twitter a few hours ago in response. Hideki Kamiya has a lot of followers following his projects, so there's no surprise that people are upset and that he's had to address this.
Spencer said that this failure will not change Microsoft's strategy. "I won't abandon signing independent studio projects but I agree 1st party internal studios are critical", he said in another tweet. Exclusive games make the difference in today's console market, and Xbox One is short of that compared to PlayStation 4 and even the Wii U.
Maybe that's why another fan asked him to be brave, so he answered: "I know we have to take risks, I realize right now probably sounds hollow but I agree".
Do you appreciate Spencer's response?
