Until PlayStation 2 was released, the Game Boy was the best-selling gaming device ever made with close to 120 millions units sold. The production stopped 16 years ago, but thanks to the surge in retro gaming recently, a company called Retro-Bit is now preparing for a small comeback.

They have announced Super Retro Boy, a Game Boy looking unit. With this, you can play all Game Boy cartidges (that includes Color and Advanced) on a sharp TFT LDC screen. The unit looks like a regular Game Boy at a quick glance, but has four facebuttons, the upper two mimicks L/R when playing Game Boy Advanced titles.

Not everything is retro, however, and the four AA batteries from the original have been switched for a 2,500mAh re-chargable battery that is supposed to last for up to ten hours of gaming. No European price or launch date has been revealed, but in the US, this will be sold for $79.99 and will see release in August.
