If you have Super Mario Run downloaded to your phone, starting today you can try out a new competitive, but at the same time friendly, game mode. This comes right after first title update and just days after its highly successful global launch.
The mode is called Friendly Run and is a way to play the competitive Toad Rally mode, but without spending any of those tickets you earn by completing the game. However, there's a limit to the times you can play friendly, and it's linked to how many levels you have completed in the World Tour Mode. You can play once if you haven't completed World 1 yet, three times if you're in World 2, and up to five times if you're in World 3 onwards.
In order to play you just need to add someone to your friend list, if you haven't already (this also seems a way to encourage people to connect in-game), and then you can click and challenge them to a Friendly Run. Same as with the Toad Rally mode, you'll race against the other player's ghost (level layout and items will remain the same), but you won't have to pay tickets for it.
However, you won't get anything in return, either. That is, the coins collected, the Toads attracted to your Kingdom, and the enemies defeated won't be taken into account. It's just a way to play the competitive mode but in a relaxed way, and perhaps a great form of training before spending those valuable tickets in the real deal.
Are you a Toad Rally player? Or perhaps you're more focused on completing the game with all the challenge coins in World Tour? Leave your comment below and for more info take a look at our Super Mario Run review.
