Overwatch comes back into the spotlight for the second time in just a few days due to reasons that have little to do with gameplay per se, but because of the sexuality of one of the female characters. First it was Mei's Christmas costume that got people talking, and now it's all about Tracer's sexuality, who has been revealed as a lesbian.

The always smiling heroine from Overwatch is the protagonist of the tenth and final comic for this year, Reflections, with a script by Blizzard's Michael Chu and drawings by Miki Montiló. It's of course a Christmas-themed short visual novel that acts as a prequel to the already kicked-off event Winter Wonderland.

Blizzard has decided to present the most intimate and romantic side of Tracer for this story, and you can enjoy it here. Just a few days back Chu teased that they were working on character stories to dig more into the heroes and their lives, despite the full Overwatch graphic novel being cancelled.

But the fact Tracer's sexuality differs from many video game characters, and that we are talking about someone from a title as popular and widely played Overwatch, is still nowadays a topic that garners attention, and the comic even got banned in Russia.

Last night Tracer became one of the fastest trending topics on Twitter, just because she isn't heterosexual. Both defenders and detractors confronted each other on social channels, and after a quick look, it looks like the news got more supportive comments than complaints.
