HTC has announced the launch of Vive Studios, which is a label that will help them create and publish games for the HTC Vive. That means first party content may well be produced by the studio, not to mention that they'll be responsible for funding, marketing, and other measures too.
"Vive Studios is actively creating content across key categories for VR including games, education, cinematic, design, social, real-estate, and sports, as well as tools and applications that can revolutionise areas such as media, retail, healthcare and location-based entertainment centres and arcades," HTC's press release said.
Joel Breton of HTC will be in charge of the new studio. "Each piece of content will be released where it makes the most sense," he said, and believes "content should be open and go wherever consumers want to access it."
Two Bears' Arcade Saga is the first title to be released under Vive Studios, with more planned for the future. Do you think this is a good initiative?
