In the latest issue of the Japanese video game magazine Nintendo Dream (via Nintendo Everything), Nintendo reveal more about why the name Switch was chosen for their next console and the reasoning behind it. It turns out it also has a second meaning besides the obvious fact that you are able to switch screens:
"We decided that this name would be the best fit for our product for two reasons," as said in Nintendo Dream. "It represents one of the defining features of the Switch, the ability to seamlessly 'switch' between the TV screen and Switch's screen, while also embodying the idea of being a 'switch' that will flip, and change the way people experience entertainment in their daily lives."
Nintendo remains silent on the console, but will spill the beans January 12, giving us more details. You will of course be able to read all about it and see the videos here on Gamereactor.
