After being set for release this week, developer Streum On Studio has decided to extend the release date of Space Hulk: Deathwing by a week to give them more time to optimise the game after the beta raised a few concerns.
Deathwing is a first person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe based on the Space Hulk strategy board game. The game sees players take control of a Librarian from the Dark Angels faction of Space Marines. Battling your enemies with the power of the Warp and a host of traditional Space Marine weapons, players must battle their way through the hulking vessel harassed by the deadly Genestealers as they go.
The Warhammer 40,000 shooter had a closed beta last week, leaving many players with concerns about the game's performance and optimisation. Focus Home wanted to address some of the issues that were raised and let fans know they were working to fix them. A post on Focus Home's site said:
"In order to offer the best possible experience at launch, we have decided to postpone a few days the release of Space Hulk: Deathwing to allow the Streum On Studio and Focus Home Interactive teams to work on the final adjustments and optimisation. As a result, the game will release December 14 on PC."
So Space Hulk Deathwing will now be coming out on December 14 for PC and will find its way onto PS4 and Xbox One in 2017. You can pre-order it here to get 15% off and a bonus weapon, however. Did you play the closed beta, and if you did, did you also have concerns about the performance?
