Final Fantasy XV has only been available for eight days, and we already knew that Square Enix had big plans for the future. Now we've learned a bit more about them.
The plans were revealed in a new press release (thanks, Gamer.ne.jp) where Final Fantasy XV's director Hajime Tabata details their short-, medium- and long-term plans. It includes some very minor spoilers, so beware:
Short-term goals
They'll first tweak the gameplay in Chapter 13, including increasing the power of the ring's magic. Further details will come in the near future.
Medium-term goals
The second half of the game will see an improved production to enhance the story experience. This includes adding new event scenes where they explain what happened to Ravus and other mysteries. Voice responses and localisation work are to see improvements as well.
Long-term goals
They hope to make an "important characters that appeared in the main game" playable. Could he be talking about Lunafreya? There's also talks of adding an avatar system which will let us create original characters. In addition to this, the team will continue to update the game actively so that we can enjoy it for a long time.
Other improvements includes a New Game+, an option to enlarge the fonts, a level limiter, invincibility skin, and other items that will make the gameplay even more varied. Tabata-san even mentions new boss battles with online rewards and achievements, time-limited mob hunts, and similar live content coming in the future. This has definitely not been the last we've seen of Final Fantasy XV.
