The Walking Dead hits a four year low in US viewership

Season 7 doesn't seem to be a big hit with viewers.

The Walking Dead is obviously a hugely popular series, and 14.3 million viewers for Season 7 Episode 6 sounds like a lot, with 8.9 million viewers allegedly coming from the 18-49 demographic, however, this is actually a four year low.

These are the worst figures the show has seen since the second half of Season 3, and no doubt AMC will hope to see the usual spike towards the midseason finale, which is only two episodes away.

Who knows why viewership has dropped off. Key characters going missing, the focus on story over violence, the seeming hopelessness of the plot - all of these could be reasons why people aren't tuning in. Are you still watching?
