Yesterday, Facebook announced a new initiative called Instant Games, which essentially lets you play games via the Messenger application, without having to install anything. According to the post, this is achieved through HTML5, and is currently supported in 30 countries.
You simply press a little controller icon in the bottom of the chat window on your device, and you get to choose from a list of games, including classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, and Space Invaders. Furthermore, the person you're chatting with is then invited to beat your high score, just like with the basketball game on Messenger.
Will you be challenging your friends?
