We've heard rumours about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story not really following the "Star Wars formula" for quite some time, and now some of these rumours have been confirmed by the CEO of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kennedy said that the film "more than likely" won't have a opening crawl. She also revealed that there will be other things in Rogue One that separate it from most other Star Wars films. One of the other examples she mentioned was that composer Michael Giacchino's music will include slight homages to John Williams' iconic score, but most of it will be completely original. These changes may turn out to be very controversial, so Lucasfilm will keep a close eye on the audiences' reaction, and adapt accordingly. If they like it, we might see more standalone films and changes in the future. If they don't, Kennedy and the rest of the company will be more careful about implementing such changes.

How do you feel about these changes? Is it great that they're trying something new, or is it blasphemy?
