Hi-Rez Studios' fantasy shooter Paladins: Champions of the Realm's install base is growing fast since it entered open beta on PC on September 16. It has already surpassed four million players worldwide, the team announced on Steam, and will add some more really soon, as the company is opening subscriptions for closed beta on consoles.
New players can sign up for closed beta on PlayStation 4 here and on Xbox One here. There is not a starting date yet, but will be "soon".
"The worldwide response to Paladins has been incredible," said Todd Harris, Chief Operating Officer of Hi-Rez Studios. "It has been thrilling to see the game grow week-over-week since the Steam Open Beta began in mid-September, as well as to hear all of the player feedback, which we are constantly using to improve the game."
"Paladins has a thriving community full of people who not only play Paladins themselves but love to watch others play at a competitive level," Said Dan McHugh, Esports Manager of Hi-Rez Studios. "Every week there are new Paladins players making names for themselves, and this tournament will provide the rising stars of the growing Paladins community a chance to show their skills."
To celebrate the success of the open beta on Steam, Hi-Rez announced that the Paladins Evie's Winter Classic tournament that takes place from November 12 to December 18 will include Oceania, Latin America, Brazil, and Russia. Have you been giving it a go on PC?
