At BlizzCon's opening ceremony, Blizzard announced that Overwatch is getting quite a lot of new content in the coming months, and now the first batch of goodies is here.

The update is now live on all platforms, and three of the most noteworthy inclusions are the new character named Sombra, the Ecopoint: Antarctica map, and Arcade mode, alhough that's not all. Not counting general bug fixes and hero balancing (including decreasing Lúcio's healing capabilities and increasing D.Va's Ultimate cost), it also brings:

• Dealing damage to things other than players (like Torbjörn's turret or Symmetra's teleporter) no longer charges ultimate abilities.

• Ultimate costs have been increased by 25% for all heroes.

• A one of each hero per team restriction in Quick Play matches.

• PlayStation 4 Pro support

• A number of data format improvements, which should decrease load times and reduce the game's storage space requirements.

• Several adjustments to the amount of experience needed to level:
- The amount of experience needed to reach levels 2 through 13 remains unchanged.
- The amount of experience needed to reach levels 14 through 100 has been slightly reduced.
- The amount of experience needed to reach levels after 100 is now constant (20,000 XP) and will no longer reset after each promotion.

• The number of observer slots in Custom Games has been increased from 6 to 12.

• Players will be distributed more broadly across the skill tiers in Competitive Play, which means that our season 3 rating will probably be lower than before.

In regards to that last point we should remind you that the second season ends on November 24 at 12am GMT / 1am CET, and the third season starts on December 1 at 12am GMT / 1am CET.

You can read the full patch notes and Blizzard reasoning behind the changes right here. How do you think players will take to Sombra?
