As you might know, yesterday was the 15th anniversary for Xbox, as the original console was released on November 15 2001. This has been celebrated in a lot of different ways by Microsoft, and even their fiercest competitors Sony and Nintendo took their time to congratulate them.

Nintendo has been on a roll recently and sent the Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer a NES Classic Mini a few days ago, which he said thanks for on Twitter, and yesterday Nintendo of America posted a picture of a Mario medallion in a tweet and wrote: "Happy anniversary, @Xbox! Congratulations on 15 fantastic years."

PlayStation UK also joined the festivites and tweeted a birthday cake emoji and: "@xboxuk Happy Birthday, kiddo."

Seems like the video game industry has come a long way since the days of Sega and Nintendo's brutal fighting in the nineties, and of course the sharp comments from Ken Kutaragi (creator of PlayStation) and Peter Moore (ex Xbox boss). Did you celebrate the Xbox anniversary at all?
