Despite major issues surrounding the development of Deadpool 2, which recently resulted in director Tim Miller leaving the project, the film is moving ahead.
Now it's been decided, via a confirmation by co-screenwriter Paul Wernick in a new interview with The Playlist, that the movie will take a small budget approach, just like it's predecessor. "Going into the sequel, we are embracing this idea that it's a small budget movie," he said.
In regards to the implementation of various X-Men characters, Wernick confirmed that the film will not be inundated with characters - they are two separate franchises according to the co-screenwriter: "We're not gonna populate it with the entire X-Men cast. They're two separate franchises. I think had we done that, we would have been making a mistake. Even if we did have the budget."
How do you like the direction the film is taking?
