We have to wait until next week to get charts and data from the NPD Group regarding American video game sales for October, but Aaron Greenberg, Head of Xbox Games Marketing, already shared one detail on Twitter that surely will get at least some attention: "New @npdgroup data shows @Xbox One best selling US console 4th month in a row. Thanks for also making us #1 console in UK & Australia!"
This is of course impressive considering Sony launching the PlayStation 4 Slim in September and PlayStation VR in October, which likely had at least some impact on the sales. On the other hand the Playstation 4 Pro was released yesterday and surely there were gamers waiting to buy the console to get the more than twice as powerful version instead.
A not so far fetched guess is that it will be very hard for Microsoft to reach a 5th consecutive month of best console sales when the data for November is released in about a month from now. What do you think?
