Abe's Oddysee: Details & dates
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - New 'n' Tasty was announced over the weekend by Just Add Water's Stewart Gilroy. During the announcement he revealed that the remake would launch in Q4 2013, on Xbox Live Arcade and on Playstation Network, with a Windows PC release following after.
The title of the game was also revealed, as well as the reasoning behind it. The new suffix, New 'n' Tasty, was chosen from entries submitted by fans.
Lorne Lanning, from Oddworld Inhabitants, said : "Oddworld Inhabitants is always overwhelmed by the fan dedication to Abe and the games and hope to keep them involved in the creative process for future games. We are all excited about giving a new generation of gamers the opportunity to play Abe's Oddysee the way they deserve."
The re-imagined classic will feature the following:
Fully 3D rendered environments with ‘2.5D' gameplay.
Levels redesigned to take advantage of the new engine.
Rerecorded sounds and voices, including some surprises.
Full integration with gaming platforms.
