There's a few interesting titbits that have dropped today following the release of Sony's latest financials (more on that here). Notably, it seems as the company is content with the current sales of the recently released PlayStation VR headset, with chief financial offer Kenichiro Yoshida saying that sales for the new device are "on track."
Because the financial report only includes details up to September 30 (PSVR launched in mid-October), Sony hasn't offered anything in the way of firm numbers, but it certainly sounds like the headset has got off to a good start. This comes days after
Sony's Jim Ryan said that they expect sales in the "hundreds of thousands" for PlayStation VR.
"We know that the replenishment cycle is a good one, production is going exactly as we anticipated," Ryan explains. "We have made decisions to further increase capacity at the back end of 2016 and into 2017, so there are going to be a lot of PlayStation VRs around the world, whether that's enough to satisfy the demands of the market, we'll see."
