It's been two years since we first heard that Sega and Sony Pictures were making a Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Then, in February, they announced that it'll be released in 2018. Today we've learned that the movie has a few interesting names behind it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, is going to be developing the adaptation of the blue hedgehog's adventures - just over a week after stepping away from the new Deadpool movie. He won't be directing though, as that honour has gone to his long-time collaborator Jeff Fowler. They worked together in a similar capacity on the Oscar-nominated animated short Gopher Broker back in 2004, so it's rather fitting that they team up to make a movie with animals again. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, the creators of the Golan the Insatiable series, are writing the script.

Do you think Miller and Fowler are fast enough to make a great Sonic movie?
