Titanfall 2 gets a slow start in sales

Will things pick up for this sequel?

It seems like Titanfall 2 is off to a very slow start in terms of sales in the UK. Earlier today we reported about the UK charts, but Games Industry offers more in-depth data and it seems like the sales of Titanfall 2, across all three formats on the first week, achieved less than a quarter of what the first game sold only on Xbox One (which was 118,000) during its launch.

This raises the question of the launch strategy to have it release almost at the same time as Battlefield 1 and only two weeks before Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was the best one. In comparison, the first Titanfall was launched during spring with less competition in the genre.

It is worth pointing out that Titanfall 2 has been getting almost universal rave reviews, though, and we really liked it as well. If the sales don't catch up, we can't help but wonder if this game will be available on EA Access sooner rather than later. An online multiplayer shooter needs a big community to be able to offer good matchmaking and people to play with in all modes, and truth is, these numbers don't offer this.

Have you bought Titanfall 2 or are you planning to get it?
