If Phil Spencer is to believed, Project Scorpio is doing very well in development, and now people want to know if there is any option to see the hardware in stores earlier than expected. Microsoft has said that the console will launch sometime in the holidays of 2017, but could things change?

The head of Xbox answered on Twitter that his team is making "amazing progress", but didn't talk about a change of plans: "I'm in a day long review of where the team is on Scorpio right now, amazing progress and we are feeling good about schedule".

This is the second time that Spencer has talked about how fast development on the Scorpio is moving. "With the hardware timelines right now we're a little ahead of plan", he said earlier this month, for example. "We'll see, there is a lot of time to go, but we feel good about how the things are coming together".

Sony's PS4 Pro is coming in November and Nintendo will start competing again in March 2017 with the Switch. What will Microsoft do?
