CD Projekt Red, creator of the acclaimed Witcher series, has announced that the closed beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game started yesterday.

Available on PC, Xbox One and later PlayStation 4, players who signed up on the game's website can expect email invitations to be arriving shortly if they have not already received them. If you have not had the chance to sign up yet, you still have the chance to be a part of beta though.

CD Projekt Red also announced that Gwent would be an Xbox Play Anywhere title and the Universal Windows Platform version would be available later as part of the Closed Beta. They have yet to state how long the beta will be running, but it is expected that new game features will be added during the duration of the beta.

"Gwent is an example of how the community can have actual impact on game developers. What we created as a part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is now, because of your involvement, a standalone game and a totally different experience that firmly stands on its own," said Marcin Momot, Senior Community Coordinator for CD Projekt Red. "The Closed Beta is another step in the process - you can now help us shape the game into something you can call your own," adds Momot.
